Thanks to support from the United Way of the Central Carolinas, local family foundations, and
individual donors, Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center has offered a Hearing Services Bank (HSB)
for low-income seniors since 1973 and to low income children since 2007.
This fund has two main purposes: 1) providing free or reduced cost digital
hearing aids and related services (including hearing aid repairs) to low
income children and seniors with hearing impairments and 2) promoting community awareness of speech,
language and hearing development and disorders.
We realize that the gift of hearing provides an increased quality of life, a sense of security
and often the only path to employment and independence for older adults. For children with a
hearing disability the world can be a challenging and overwhelming place. We want to give
them the key to unlocking a world that they can succeed in. Charlotte Speech and Hearing
Center is here to help you and your family overcome the communication barrier you face.
HSB Qualifications
There is an HSB orientation, mandatory for new patients, the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:30am. Please call (704) 523-8027 ext.18 to sign up. The orientation will be held at our center.
